Things to know about the textile designing course

It has been believed that the textile designing is a part of fashion designing courses, but they are very much different. Education programs in textile design include both undergraduate and graduate degree programs. In general, both levels offer many hands-on courses that teach students about the design, manufacture and sale of textiles.

 

A textile designing course offers the knowledge to work in both industrial and non-industrial locations; they often specialize, or work in a specialist context, within the textile industry. The two major areas of textiles are interiors like upholstery, soft furnishings and carpets as well as fabrics for clothing which can include fashion or specialist, e.g. fire-proof.

A bachelor's degree program or BSc in textile designing is meant to provide students with an in-depth understanding of the creation and functional utilization of various textiles. It usually includes Textile design processes, Color usage, Textile terminology, Repeat patterning, Computer aided textile design and Knitted & woven design.

Students interested in graduate programs in textile designs have a few different degree options to choose from, including a Master of Arts in Textile and Apparel Management, a Master of Arts in Textiles and Supply Chain Management and a Master of Arts in Textiles and Marketing which is also known as MBA in textile designing. The common courses mainly include Common courses include Materials and polymers, Nonwovens characteristics, methods, and processing, Bonding principles in non-wovens, Advanced woven structures design, Biotextiles and Textile quality and process control.
